Morning Math - groups of ten

We have been learning to skip count in tens.  To add interest to our daily morning math, we started looking at how many groups of ten were needed to make a decade number e.g. 10, 20, 30...

How many groups of ten are needed to make 80?

Jaedyn and Arahi show 4 groups of 10 = 40

Zoe and Angel halved 70...they were a great team.

How can you equally share 70? "Break a group of ten in half," said Zoe.
