Next step...experimenting. Working in groups of two, the children decided on their pot design and are having a go at creating them. We looked at possible problems that could arise and problem solved as we worked. At the end of the session, we reflected on our learning.
DAY ONE:
REFLECTIONS:
The children are very honest during this process (which is a strong quality). These are their thoughts...
Some
problems that we have already found are:
1.What
are we going to do next? We’ve made our
first cut, but we’re unsure what to do next – Lennox
2.When
cutting the plastic bottle with a knife, it got harder because I was doing it
the wrong way. Mrs Daly
gave me a tip on how to hold/cut the bottle properly. - Cynthia
3.Kayla
and I don’t know how to keep the pot design together (upside down bottle top),
it might fall apart – Cynthia
4.David
and Jaedyn,
Lennox and Arahi
found that… One person is doing all the work (David/Lennox) because Jaedyn and Arahi were
drawing a picture.
Cynthia thinks
that maybe Jaedyn and Arahi
don’t know what to do. Kayla and Jaedyn both
said the boys need to
help or
ask how they can help their buddies.
As Kayla said…”It’s okay to make mistakes!!”
DAY 2:
I think Room 2 are going to easily overcome the challenges they may have along our learning journey. Why you ask?...BECAUSE WE'RE A TEAM! WE WORK FANTASTICALLY TOGETHER.
I am so proud of Room 2. Keep up the amazing learning my little Minions! x
